2023... A Beautiful Mess

It's funny how we make plans and life happens. This has a been a year of growth, slowing down, and learning to embrace the mess. I came in with plans to write and release multiple books. Yet, I only had one new release this year.

Don't get me wrong, I love the book I released this year. Green Lights and Obsession is part of the Mayhem Makers and was such a fun project to participate in. For those who missed it, Mayhem Makers is for attending authors of the Motorcycles, Mobsters, and Mayhem event put on by Sapphire Knight.

This year, the event was held in May at the Margaritaville Resort in Lake Conroe, Texas. I turned it into a much needed vacation style weekend with my author bestie, Desiree Lafawn. (Yes, we've got plans to co-write more, but life... so stay tuned.)

I did, however, have my very first series completely recovered this year and I'm obsessed with how they turned out. The covers of these were done by an author friend, Avery Kingston.

With that said, let's start off the photo sharing with MMM. Please note, there are SOOOOOO many more pictures up on my Facebook Page from events this year. I'd definitely recommend checking those all out HERE.

Over the summer, I took a much needed family vacation (to visit more family). We went to the Big Island! It was beautiful. I don't know if I'm capable of describing just how at peace I was there. We had quality family time and enjoyed slowing down. That was something I feel I brought back with me. I didn't want to be so "Go-Go-Go".

A few days later, I attended my first book event as a model! That was exciting. It was BRAE, which I will be attending as both a model and author in 2024.

In the fall, I attended my favorite, Wanderlust in San Antonio. Y'all know this event is near and dear to my heart. I have the honor of hosting the Friday Night Author Read. This event always feels like a reunion, it's so nice to see old and new friends each year.

I took my oldest daughter with me to Lubbock Book Con where she attended her first event as an author. It was some fun mother/daughter bonding and she's excited to work on another book now. She was one of two kid authors! The lovely author, Shannon Myers's son published his first book too.

I started a new part time job in the fall. It's retail, which is something I didn't think I would ever do again. It's at one of my favorite stores though. Everyone I work with is chill and nerdy, and I genuinely enjoy it.

Thanks for reading my 2023 recap. Here's to 2024 and embracing the mess of life. Cheers!
